Kendall is currently a Senior at Carmel Catholic High School and is going into her fourth year with Extensions Dance Company. As Kendall’s competitive dance career is coming to an end, she is very grateful for all the amazing teachers and choreographers who have helped shape the dancer she is today. Kendall’s love for dance started at the age of five and just grew more and more over time. She has been coached by some wonderful instructors including Lizzie MacKenzie, Katie McCann, Taylor Mitchell, Brian Rabenda, Hannah Brictson, Jackie Nowiki and Jared Baker. Kendall has had many accomplishments including being in the top twelve highest scoring contemporary solos at YAGP, Top 10 Soloist at Radix Dance and being a part of “The Dream” where she danced alongside Visceral Dance Chicago and performed live with Chicago Philharmonic, and going to the 2019 lines summer intensive. Kendall’s favorite dance genre is contemporary, she feels as if she is able to be her true self and break out of her shell. In order to balance the rest of her life with her dance schedule, she learned how to manage her time really well, she makes sure she has enough time to do everything she needed to do that day. Her most challenging dance moment was when she moved studios and was the youngest at her new studio. She was dancing with seniors in high school when she was in sixth grade, so it was hard for her to mature her movement at such a young age. In the end, it was a very important part of her life and growth. The advice she would give to her past self would be to stop worrying about what other people think. Every dancer is different, it’s better to be yourself rather than trying to be someone you’re not. Something that people don’t know about Kendall is that she is very into movies. In her free time, she is always watching movies with her friends and family. If you ever want to get her a drink from Starbucks, you should know that her favorite drink is a peach green tea lemonade. Kendall likes to remember this quote when she needs an inspiration “real growth starts when you’re tired of your own sh*t”! Kendall is looking forward to finishing up her final year with Extension Dance Company on a high note and excited for her next journey in college.
