Julia
Bio
Julia began dancing when she was three years old. Now in her tenth year of dancing this will be her fifth year with Extensions Dance Company and her first year with the teen company. She’s also an eighth grader at Old St. Mary’s, and in the rare instance she’s not at the studio, Julia enjoys cooking, reading, and sleeping.
Past summers have been spent at Extensions Intensive, Elements Ballet Advanced Intensive, and the Giordano Teen Dance Intensive where she was awarded the ” Jr. Light Award” from Nan Giordano. Julia was able to enjoy one of the many benefits of the Jr. Light award and attended two days of classes and rehearsal with the Giordano Dance Company! Thank you Nan Giordano, Cesar Salinas, and Joshua Blake Carter! This past summer Julia attended the Boston Ballet Classical Ballet Intensive in Boston proper and she loved every second of it. She is thrilled to be part of the inaugural year of Chicago City Classical Ballet under the direction of Tatyana Mazur. Julia feels as if Extensions is her second home, and she is grateful to be an Extensionite and part of the family. She also appreciates the amazing dance (and life) training that Extensions offers with opportunities to learn from some of the best dancers, choreographers and humans like Hillary Aarons, Jared Baker, Miranda Borkan, Christian Denice, Krista Ellensohn, Mike Gosney, Katie McCann, Taylor Mitchell, and Brian Rabenda. She especially thanks Lizzie MacKenzie for believing in her, pushing her, and creating so many wonderful opportunities for her to work towards.
