Our young choreographers and their dancers have been working hard on their pieces for our student choreography project, and we are amazed at what they have come up with! Please join us on Sunday May 28 at 2pm to see their work come to life! 🌸

Our final competition of the 2022-23 season was 🔥! Extensions Dance Company & Kidz Movin’ Hip Hop Crew owned the stage @headlinersdance and it was extra fun to share the space and see the amazing performances by our friends at @the.academy.of.dance.arts & @boomboxdanceco Thank you to everyone for a super fun and inspiring weekend! LASTS 🥲. As our seniors begin to arrive at theater for their performances this afternoon @headlinersdance we officially begin the last of their competition performances…ever…shortly. So very bitter sweet but we are insanely proud of them and we will sit back and just enjoy their generous spirits on stage today. We love you Ashlinn, Sophia, Lilly, Gefen and Lincoln ❤️❤️

Our last senior spotlight goes to the talented, kind, and MVP for growth, @lincolnkosyla 😎❤️When Lincoln sets his mind to something, a fire lights in him that burns with determination and courage. He is always willing to lend a helping hand and truly cares about your feelings. He is cool and calm, wrapped up in a compassionate, beautifully sensitive package. He always makes sure to include our younger dancers, and they look up to him with admiration. Lincoln’s growth over the past three years makes our hearts burst with pride and we cannot wait to watch and cheer on his unlimited potential and promising future! He will be pursing a modern dance BFA at Point Park University, on a 50% scholarship! Go Lincoln!!

Moving to our next gorgeous senior, the one and only, @ashlinn.demonte 💖

Ashlinn has the ability to stop a room just by walking in. She is beauty and grace wrapped into the most down to earth package. Ashlinn never complains and always shows up whether it’s class, rehearsal, a performance, as a friend, or teammate. Ashlinn is genuine, kind, hardworking, intelligent, secretly silly, calm, and loyal. We will miss everything about this beautiful human and know that the world is a better place with Ashlinn’s bright light a part of it! She will be attending the University of Alabama! Roll Tide!!
-I am so excited to further my academic career at the University of Alabama. The second I stepped foot on their beautiful campus, I knew it would be my new home, the same way I felt walking into Extensions for the first time. Even though I’m leaving EXD, I will carry the life lessons I’ve acquired throughout my life. Lizzie has always taught me to “strive for excellence” and that is exactly what I plan to do at UA. The determination and grit instilled in me by EXD will forever be a part of me. I am incredibly humbled to follow in my mother and grandmother’s footsteps in becoming a third generation nurse. Because of these amazing and strong women, I am able to continue to “strive for excellence.” Dance will always be a part of me, and I do plan on taking dance classes in Tuscaloosa. I want to thank Lizzie, Jackie, and the rest of the faculty at Extensions for always pushing me towards excellence, I wouldn’t be where I am today without their guidance and support. Additionally, I want to thank my fellow company members for allowing me to share the stage with them for the past five years, I will forever cherish the time I have spent with you all. Lastly, thank you Extensions Dance for shaping me into the human I am today and for giving me many lifelong friends along the way. While I don’t know what the future holds, I am thrilled to see where this new chapter in my life takes me.

Our next senior spotlight goes to the incredible @lilly.aylward 🌻Lily’s sweet, calm, and genuine spirit lights up the room and her graceful elegance as a mover stops us in our tracks. Watching her blossom over the past few years as both an artist and young woman makes us explode with pride! Her gorgeous smile is infectious and her witty comments keep us giggling! Lily’s hard work and perseverance are among the long list of wonderful traits she posses. She is quietly confident, making her an even more powerful force! We have loved EVERY second of our time with Lily and know that only the brightest paths will light her future!
**Lily will be attending the University of Iowa on a partial merit scholarship and she plans to double major in kinesiology therapy and dance! We are so proud of you Lily!!

-I am so excited to attend the University of Iowa next fall. I plan to double major in kinesiology and dance. The dance program at Iowa is structured in order to allow students to double major in another area if they wish, which is part of the reason I chose the school. While I know next year is going to be a busy one, I feel ready to take on this challenge after spending the past few years training under Lizzie and all of the incredible faculty at Extensions. Over the past two years Lizzie has taught me to always push myself to be the best dancer and individual I can, and never settle for anything less. I am so grateful for all the lessons in both dance and life that I have received from my time at Extensions that I will continue to carry with me in the future. The Extensions community welcomed me with open arms and has been so supportive, and I will miss all the immensely talented dancers and faculty so much!
