ENGAGE workshops
Under no other circumstance EVER would Lizzie MacKenzie, Jackie Nowicki & Hanna Brictson be in the same place at the same time during any summer. Thank you Covid-19, for making the birth of ENGAGE possible. Coming to Extensions Dance Center in July- a unique, customized workshop series intersecting three different perspectives, to create a one of a kind experience for each student. Introducing, ENGAGE, where every artist can expand their creative future and enrich their lives!

JUNIOR ENGAGE #1 July 6, 7 & 8: The first of our two part junior series is “Personal Branding and Online Presence”, and will take place July 6-8. In a time where our everyday lives and our digital lives are colliding, ENGAGE will bring each young artist three unique and invigorating days of personal growth. Each dancer will take part in technique training, improvisation, choreographic development, and an introduction to using editing applications. This experience will culminate in the creation and development of a personally “branded” video, where their creative voice shines, and highlights who each individual is. Every dancer will be challenged to enhance the clarity of mind and movement alike, while exploring their own personal brand!
JUNIOR ENGAGE #2 July 9,10 & 11: “Cultivating your creative voice and developing confidence in YOU!” ??Dive into your creative voice with improvisational and choreographic tools coached by Jackie, Hanna and myself! Learn to utilize your mind, body and spirit to collaborate in the creation of an original piece of choreography and sharpen your leadership skills to become a true collaborator in the space. You will leave this 3 day workshop with more tools, confidence and experience to create and collaborate!

PRE-PROFESSIONAL ENGAGE #3 July 12, 13 & 15: Impulse & Instinct for the win. Expanding your default, discovering new pathways and embracing a new sense of possibility for movement, collaboration and your voice as a member of your community. To be a great collaborator we must also be great leaders and in this workshop we research the correlation between our dance education, the rich creative mind, and our spirit to create both in and out of the studio.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL ENGAGE #4 July 19: Kick start that daunting task of planning for your future with ENGAGE pre-professional workshop #4! During this one day workshop, we will help you decipher how (and if), you want to keep dance part of your life during your collegiate years, and we will help you build a personalized and comprehensive list of options for higher education, as well as a checklist to get you started and keep you on track through the process.
