Peter Westergaard began hip hop dance at Extensions in January 2023, and has been a member of Kidz Movin’ Hip Hop Crew since August 2024. In August 2025, he also joined Extensions Dance Company Petites. In December 2025, Peter was cast as the lead child dancer in Lamentations for Peace with South Chicago Dance Theatre, and his performance received rave reviews from the press and Chicago fine arts community. He’ll dance that role again in December 2026. Peter’s favorite dance style is hip hop because he connects with the music and can dance with the most abandon in that style. He’s grateful to be at Extensions for the technical training, the creative choreography, and most of all: peers and teens who support him and love him.

Outside of dance, Peter loves traveling, collecting Pokemon cards, playing board games with his sister, and showing off his tricks and acrobatics skills.
