Jaime Borkan
Jaime Borkan is originally from Chicago, Illinois and spent her youth primarily training at Extensions Dance Company under the tutelage of Lizzie Mackenzie. Since graduating from Extensions in 2011, Jaime received her BFA from the Ailey School/Fordham University with a minor in Business Administration. After graduation, Jaime went on to apprentice for Peridance Contemporary Dance Company under the direction of Igal Perry before joining Royal Caribbean International as a dancer/aerialist onboard their ships.
Jaime spent her summers after college seeking out new opportunities to develop her artistry and was honored to have studied at the B12 summer program in Berlin, Germany as well as the Gaga summer intensive in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
Jaime went on to spend two years traveling the world performing with Royal Caribbean before she ultimately chose to return home, and it was there she joined Chicago Repertory Ballet and, later, the aerial dance company C5 Create with No Limits under the direction of Jeremy Plummer.
After remaining in Chicago for some time, Jaime traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah to perform with Odyssey Dance Theater in their production of Thriller, under the artistic direction of Derryl Yeager. Jaime then returned to Chicago and joined the Lyric Opera of Chicago as a dancer for their production of Cendrillon.
Jaime has recently relocated to Dallas, Texas and is thoroughly enjoying her first season dancing with Bruce Wood Dance under the artistic direction of Joy Bollinger. Jaime is absolutely thrilled to be working for such an incredible company and could not be more excited to see where this new journey will take her. She is forever grateful and in debt to her biggest supporters: her sister, her parents, and Lizzie Mackenzie, for believing in her always and loving her unconditionally.
