2009 - 2010 Season
Children's Place Association, Dance For Life, Special Olympics Illinois
This year Extensions was able to donate to:
- The Children's Place Association an organization who's mission is to improve the present and secure the future for children, youth and families confronted by HIV/AIDS or other life-changing health conditionsis from the general fund raising efforts;
- Dance for Life The mission of Dance for Life is to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS care, prevention and education while promoting the art of dance in Chicago;
- and Special Olympics Illinois serving the needs of athletes with disabilities in Illinois.
Members of the company performed for the students and faculty of Western Avenue Elementary School in Flossmoor, IL and taught the students a hip hop dance routine choreographed by the company.
2008 - 2009 Season
New Phoenix Assistance Center
Extensions provided entertainment for New Phoenix Assisstance Center's (http://newphoenixasstistance.com/default.aspx) holiday party. New Phoenix is an organization that provides assistance for homeless women and children living with HIV and AIDS, runaway and throwaway teens and the homeless.
2007 - 2008 Season
Little City Foundation
Extenstions held it's first annual care to dance workshop in August. The company contributed the proceeds from the workshop to Little City Foundation (www.littlecity.org), an organization dedicated to providing programs and services to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Later in the season, the company was blessed to be able to provide a performance for and in honor of Little City Foundation.
2005-2006 Season
Daniel C. Beard Elementary School
Extensions danced for and with 70 young children with special needs for a day that enlightened and enriched everyone involved. The Daniel Beard Elementary School (http://www.cps.edu/Schools/Pages/school.aspx?unit=4950) provides educational programs for profoundly disabled children ages three to eight with autism, emotional difficulties, and multiple disabilities.
